Meet Us
Hi, I’m Stephanie Say (Brainspotter/Coach)
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (KY and IL), as well as a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner. I received an M.A. in Professional Counseling from McKendree University in Illinois, and recently received a post-graduate certificate in Couple Therapy. I have been working as a brainspotting therapist for several years and have found the technique to be so beneficial for my clients and in my own life. I was originally introduced to brainspotting by my own therapist when attempting to move past some negative relationship patterns. We were able to identify and remove blocks that had been causing me to repeat those patterns for years. It was truly a life changing experience and the beginning of my journey to become trained as a certified brainspotting therapist. I’m passionate about helping people with their relationships to self and to others.
Hi, I’m Jake Batts. (Tutor/Brainspotter)
I’ve been working as a tutor for over 3 years now, and I originally got into Brainspotting as a way to help my students overcome their test anxiety. Before I worked as a tutor, I went to Purdue University, where I graduated with a degree in Neurobiology and Genetics, which is another reason brainspotting fascinated me. For tutoring, I’ve tutored SAT/ACT prep, as well as nearly any science and math class at the high school level. I’ve also taught plenty of different high school entrance exam prep as well.
After having been an athlete for most of my life, I look back and wish I had known a lot of these techniques throughout my life. Much of the mental aspect of sports isn’t often addressed when considering performance issues, and I’m all too familiar with that side of the game.
Since I’ve gotten involved in brainspotting, it has helped me immensely with my anxiety and with everyday coping mechanisms.
